Scope
- Design
- concept and marketing
Duration
Part of doorlin (2015 – 2024)
A whiteboard as simple as a sheet of paper: sketch, merge content, share.
Whiteboard is the platform app for spontaneous, visual exchange: sketch, merge and share content from anywhere – very easily.
Goal
Business and user goals – and my contribution to defining them.
- Business
- A low-threshold entry to working together: usable right away, without training, connected to the platform.
- User
- Sketch ideas quickly, enrich them with content and share them – from anywhere, without setup.
Problem
The data, insights and pain points the solution builds on.
Digital whiteboards often feel overloaded: many tools, little orientation – which keeps people from sketching spontaneously.
- Too many tools hide the idea.
- Content from other tools is awkward to bring in.
- Sharing needs setup.
Solution
Approach, UX patterns, screens and design process.
Approach & UX patterns
Reduction: one large canvas, few tools, palettes only when needed. Content from notes and files can be brought onto the canvas.
Screens, UI flow & process
From rough flow sketches to the UI, carried on with brand and landing page. Sketches keep their hand-drawn character, tools appear in context.

Impact & Validation
Outcome and validation.
- Outcome
- A reduced whiteboard app for desktop and mobile with its own brand and landing page, built on the platform patterns.
- Validation (planned)
- User tests on how quickly newcomers create and share a first sketch; metric time to the first shared canvas.
